Welcome to the garage, the channel is predominately about stripping and refurbishing motorbikes. I don't claim to be an expert so there will plenty of opportunity for you to say, I wouldn't do it that way, but this is a learning process and if money is involved I tend to want to know why something doesn't work rather than just accept it doesn't. There will be product reviews, good and bad, and days that are good and bad.. enjoy..
Life up North!!
Been quite a while since I uploaded anything and that's been mostly down to the fact, we used the pandemic and the fact we couldn't do anything, to retrain and increase the opportunities for us to move further North, which is what we have wanted to do for a while. We are now out the other end and live in County Durham, which is an amazing place to live. To take full advantage of the beautiful surroundings we got a Collie / Retriever puppy who is now 7 months old and full of nonsense.

XJ600 Survival Bike - One week on....
man! what a job! I just bought a honda st 1300 , very pretty one and I love it. I intent to do all this maintenance and thank you very very much for your explanations. I can imagine that it is a costly job when you get it to the garage for this.
great tutorial i have done it in about 20 min thanks 😁
Why remove the fairing for the headlight bulb replacement. Just turn the handlebars and insert from below!
Thank You! Clear, concise and right down to business.
excellent mate
Great instruction. What diameter tubing did you use ?
great video this helped a lot, I'm currently battling a poor idle and stalling issue and have my tank off, took airbox off as well, changed my spark plugs, airbox and installed new battery cables from battery to alternator and ground. Is there something that controls idle that I can adjust? Or is it just the TPS sensor thing on side of throttle bodies
to dark, camera too narrow, awful text, please show the written instructions for that job, it helps more
Excellent video. A good reminder of the process since I haven’t done this for a long time. Done. Air filter and gear oil next.
Great tutorial mate. I've only had my ST1300 a week, bought from a motorbike dealership. I took my good lady out for a ride this weekend and I don't know whether she'll come on the bike again. The pre load was pretty none existent and her back was in bits, she didn't let on till later as she didn't want to spoil my day. Bless her I've got a good one there. Anyway I contacted the dealer and they're going to check it out. Apparently they have a time served Honda mechanic who'll have a look. Now your excellent video has provided the ammunition I need to take with me just incase they try to fob me off.
So what do you do if all the inside assembly is stuck??? How are you able to remove that stuff when it's stuck do they have a tool for that or what
Hello! thanks for the video !can you tell me about the tightening torque of the M12 bolts (attachment at the top of the engine X4). Thank you!
Podrías decirme en qué sentido va la arandela que tiene los bordes curvos?
When you check level are you putting it on the service stand or leaning it on the kick stand still?
I normally put it on the centre stand, or put a piece of wood under the side stand until the bike is up right.
Hi Its been a while since this video was made Question Is ther not a new ungraded pin from Yamaha that could be installed How much bigger in diameter should the homemade pin be please Looking at the new pin installed it looks like it isnt possible for it to fall out Or as a precaution is it advisable to lock tight it in place Thanks for this video
If anyone reads this when replacing the front engine bolts you can lose off the oil cooler and that gives you better access to get the nuts and washers on the back
Thank you very much for this great video. R & G instructions are not very clear but your video made it so easy to understand and install. And yes you are right, they are pricey items for what they are.
👍
it never needs to be changed, they have 100k mile coolant..... my 2006 ST1300 has been in Arizona since 2006, and with 120 degree summer temperatures..... my bike has 74k miles on it and the coolant looks and functions like it should.....my temp gauge is always half way 50% and she never overheats !
Hi and thank you, I swopped my Ropey radiator using your guide for Coolant change. cheers Roy ( bought Honda car coolant as its the same as the bikes 5L for £27 and used most of it)
No pressure from sitting is air in the system. If it has moisture in the system you'll be riding, the fluid will heat up and expand and have the effect that you're pulling your clutch in, seeming like your clutches are slipping. Bleeding can get air out of the system. Moisture you'll have to replace the fluid.
Thank you
I have a 2012 ST 1300 and had to replace the turn signal switch assembly. Couldn’t get to the connectors. Was dreading taking the faring off. Your video made it so easy. Thank You
Thank you very helpful video quick question.Would it be safe to ride with all the ferrying off. To save time and money when going for repair ??
It's easier to use a 5.5mm drill bit, and cut your new pin from the end of it. Works a treat.
I have a problem: The key on my locking glove compartment is broken. Rather, I think some debris fell into the key mechanism. Regardless, I cannot open the glove box to gain access to those internal screws. I may have to break the lock, then replace it. Darn it.
How many bits and bobs to take off so i can fit speakers do you reckon? Edit: a better question might be, how much of the fairing needs to be removed in order to fit speakers?
I bought a 15mm open/ring spanner from a Halfords store and it is still soft crap - I managed to splay the open-end just pulling on the spanner with my bare hands - no hammering or extension bar. Totally unimpressed. I might expect chocolate spanners form China via ebay but not directly form Halfords. Will be looking for a chrome vanadium job from a tool store next (except there aren't any of these left!)
Do you no if there is any fake Halfords Advance full socket sets. I have seen a full set for sale that says Halfords on the tool when you zoom in. But been told they can sell them under that name.
Does dealer tool display fault codes for when the ABS light is flashing?
fix it so it will not leak... Haha... get a better clamp or something never give up Hello... PLAN B is to make PLAN A work... Haha...
Invaluable - thanks so much.
Great video! Thanks
I was there 😎
Hey thanks mate! you saved me hours in a lot of frustration Dash and I’ve done this before. Lol.
Thank you!
Thanks, answered my questions.😅
I'm guessing the tie strap is supposed to get stuck in the valve seat so the valve doesn't close all the way creating a clearance between the lobe and shim enough to remove it?
Thanks so much for making and posting this video. It gave me the information and courage to tackle this job on my ST 1300 today! Cheers!
Hi there just wondering with the shock Absorber do u still av to put the rectangle washer in place that's at the top of shock or do u leave that out. cheers and good channel
I dont know if AliExpress deliver to uk, they should. You would be able to get this kit for about £3 delivered
Show us the work less talk.
hi, i have xj600 1995. i have lost all gears, if the bike is in any gear it can be pushed along with clutch lever out. any idea many thanks........
All this shows to me is what a ball ache Dealertool is, and just not worth the money they want for it, perhaps they should get their act together before sending out this thing that's not fit for purpose.
couple of things I would add, use a drain hose with a non return valve to provide a little back pressure on the fluid and I use an open 10mm spanner to open brake fluid - it saaves the fluid backing up behind a lip. Great video!
the first step when making a avideo is to provide a good light source so the viewer can see the details of your job. your desk area is darkish.
i can't understand you too good, rats
Hi mate Can you not bleed the clutch the same way you did the brakes, by holding a long piece of tube up and letting gravity do the job?
very dark there. can't make out detail.
thanks for all your help, i really appreciate all the videos you post
